Dr. Yahya Abd. Karim

Dr. Yahya Abd Karim is currently the Head of Plant Health Division at Felda Global Ventures Research & Development. He has worked in both the public and private sectors. He has been spending 25 years in Malaysian Rubber Board working as extension and research officer. Since 2012, he has moved to Felda Global Venture R&D Company as Head of Rubber Agronomy Unit. Currently, he is the Head of Plant Health Division dealing with Oil Palm and Rubber Agronomy Research. His field of specialization is on Crop and Climate Modelling and Soil Crops Suitability. Among Dr. Yahya’s research areas are development and evaluation of various types of fertilisers including organic, inorganic and slow/controlled release fertiliser. He is also looking at the soil, nutrient and moisture conservation study for rubber and oil palm plantation as well as research and establishments on drip irrigation/fertigation for rubber and oil palm. Dr. Yahya graduated with Diploma in Agriculture and Bachelor Science in Biondustry from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in which later on, he pursued his PhD at Imperial College London and graduated in 2006.
