Prof. Minami Matsui is the Group Director of RIKEN Center for Sustainable Resource Science, Japan. He became an associate member of International Rubber Research Development Board (IRRDB) from 2017. He is engaging in plant genome research from 2000. In 2016 his group reported a draft genome sequence of RRIM600 a most widely using rubber clone in Asian countries and opened its genome browser in 2018 (http://matsui-lab.riken.jp/rubber/home.html). He is a scientific advisor of several plant genome institutes of Korea and Japan. His group is starting technology development of digital measurement of rubber tree growth and detection of disease by remote sensing using satellite.
