Dr. Faridah Hanim Ab Hanan

Dr. Faridah Hanim Ab Hanan joined the Rubber Research Institute of Malaysia (RRIM) in May 1989 and graduated with a PhD from the University of North London in June 2001. Her research was on Plasticizer Transportation Studies in Polar and Non-Polar Rubbers. Upon returning to the Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB) in 2001, she was made the OIC of several laboratories before being appointed as the Head of the Materials Characterisation Unit of MRB in 2007. As an inventor, Dr Faridah Hanim and co-workers have won several medals for inventions at national and international exhibitions. In January 2014, she was appointed as the Director of the Quality & Technical Services Department Division of Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB). Her keen interests in standards development has made her the project leader responsible for publication of several standards at ISO TC 45 and she is currently the chair of ISO/TC 157 on Non-systemic contraceptives and STI barrier prophylactics.
